What Criterion B Looks For

• Correct and consistent mathematical notation throughout
• All graphs, tables, and diagrams labelled and purposeful
• Variables defined when first introduced
• Technology outputs (GDC, GeoGebra, spreadsheets) explained in context

Mark Descriptors

0: No standard reached.
1-2: Some correct notation; graphs may be unlabelled; variables not always defined.
3-4: Correct, consistent notation; all graphs labelled; all variables defined; technology outputs explained.

Common Mistakes

• Inconsistent notation — f(x) then y= for the same function
• Graphs with no axis labels or title
• GDC screenshots pasted without explanation
• Writing maths in words instead of notation
• Greek symbols used without definition

Pre-Submission Checklist

• Every variable defined at first use
• Every graph: title, labelled axes, text reference
• Every table: headers and units
• Consistent notation throughout
• All technology outputs explained in the body text
