Online and In-Person IB Math Tutoring in Dubai
Whether you are in Dubai or anywhere else in the world, I offer specialist one-to-one IB Mathematics tutoring that fits around your schedule and your location. I work with students in person across Dubai and online with students in the UAE, the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Americas — all four IB Math courses, all year groups, all levels.
Online IB Math Tutoring — Available Worldwide
My online tutoring setup is built specifically for IB Mathematics. I use an interactive digital whiteboard where both the student and I can write, annotate, and work through problems in real time — exactly the way a physical lesson works, without either of us needing to be in the same room.
Every online session includes:
- A shared digital whiteboard where I write worked examples and the student practises in real time
- IB past papers loaded directly onto the whiteboard for annotation and mark-scheme review
- Screen sharing so the student can show me their GDC calculator work on Paper 2 and Paper 3 questions
- A post-session summary of what we covered and what to work on before the next lesson
Online sessions are available on weekday evenings and weekends to fit around the school day. I work across time zones, so if you are a UK student preparing for November exams or a Singapore student working through the May session, we can find a slot that works.
Online IB Math tutoring is available for all four courses: Analysis & Approaches HL, Analysis & Approaches SL, Applications & Interpretation HL, and Applications & Interpretation SL.
In-Person IB Math Tutoring Across Dubai
I travel to the student’s home for in-person lessons. This is how most of my Dubai students prefer to work — there is no travel time for the student, no need to find a tutoring centre, and the lesson takes place in a familiar environment. I bring all materials: printed past papers and mark schemes, the IB formula booklet, and worked example sheets for the specific topics we are covering that day.
I currently travel to students in:
- Motor City
- Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC)
- Arabian Ranches and Damac Hills
- Mirdif and Rashidiya
- Karama and central Dubai
- Al Barsha and Umm Suqeim
- Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Road
- Business Bay and Downtown Dubai
- The Springs, Meadows, and The Lakes
If your area is not on the list, contact me to check availability. I cover most of Dubai and am willing to consider new locations when the scheduling works.
Which Format Is Better — Online or In-Person?
Honestly, both work. I have had students who made dramatic grade improvements entirely through online sessions, and I have had students who specifically needed the structure and focus of a face-to-face lesson. The right format depends on the student, not on any general rule about how tutoring works.
A few things to consider:
- Online works particularly well for older students in Year 13 who are self-directed, for students who live outside central Dubai, and for anyone who needs to fit sessions around a busy school and activity schedule.
- In-person tends to work better for younger students in Year 12 who are just getting to grips with the IB, for students who find it harder to stay focused without a physical tutor present, and for families who prefer a more traditional lesson structure.
If you are not sure, try one in-person session and one online session — most students know which they prefer within the first two lessons.
Subjects and Courses Available
Both in-person and online tutoring are available for all four IB Mathematics courses:
- IB Math AA HL — abstract algebra, proof, complex numbers, calculus at near-undergraduate level, and Paper 3
- IB Math AA SL — algebra, functions, calculus, trigonometry, and statistics
- IB Math AI HL — statistics and modelling, hypothesis testing, Markov chains, graph theory, and Paper 3
- IB Math AI SL — applied statistics, financial mathematics, geometry, and basic calculus
I also help with the IB Math Internal Assessment in all courses — topic selection, exploration structure, mathematical content, and final draft review.
Getting Started
The process is the same whether you choose in-person or online:
- Contact me via WhatsApp with your child’s year group, current IB Math course, and predicted grade.
- I send a free diagnostic — a short set of past-paper questions tailored to the course and level, completed before the first paid session.
- We book the first lesson — in-person at your home or online via the interactive whiteboard, at a time that suits your family.
There is no upfront package commitment. One lesson at a time is fine. View the tutoring packages and pricing or contact me to book a lesson →
Frequently Asked Questions
Is online IB Math tutoring as effective as in-person?
For most IB Math students, yes. The interactive whiteboard setup means I can work through problems with the student exactly as I would on paper. The main difference is that students who struggle with focus at home may find in-person sessions easier to stay engaged — but many students actually find the online format more convenient and equally productive.
Do you tutor students outside Dubai?
Yes. Online sessions are available for students anywhere in the UAE, the UK, Europe, Asia, and internationally. Contact me to check time zone availability for your location.
What equipment does the student need for online sessions?
A laptop or tablet, a stable internet connection, and a stylus or drawing tablet for writing on the whiteboard. A mouse can work for some students, but being able to write naturally makes a significant difference to the lesson quality — particularly for Paper 1 (no calculator) working.
How often should my child have lessons?
Most students start with one 60-minute session per week and increase to two sessions in the six to eight weeks before exams. Students who are significantly behind or who have a November exam with limited time often start at two sessions per week from the beginning. See the tutoring packages for the full breakdown.
