1. Who We Are
Mr Ahmad Tutor is a private Math and Science tutoring service run by Shehroz Ahmad, based in the United Arab Emirates. This app is used by parents and students to book lessons, track progress, and manage payments for tutoring provided directly by Shehroz Ahmad. This policy explains what information we collect through the app, why, and how it’s protected.
2. Information We Collect
From parents (account holders)
- Full name
- Email address (used to log in)
- Phone / WhatsApp number
From students aged 13 or older
A student aged 13 or older may have their own login, created for them by a parent or by Mr Ahmad. We collect:
- Full name
- Email address (used to log in)
- Year / grade and subjects studied
From students under 13
See the dedicated “Children Under 13” section below — we deliberately collect much less for this group, and never collect an email address, phone number, photo, or date of birth for a child under 13.
Booking and lesson information
- Lesson dates, times, and subjects booked
- Lesson status (scheduled, completed, cancelled, no-show)
- Written feedback, homework records, topic and progress ratings, and test scores recorded by Mr Ahmad after a lesson
Payment information
We record which lessons have been paid or are outstanding, and which payment method was used (bank transfer, cash, or Ziina). We do not collect or store card numbers, bank account login details, or any other financial account credentials. Payments themselves are made directly through your own banking app or payment provider, outside of this app — we only keep a record that a payment happened.
3. Children Under 13
We take extra care with students under 13. For this age group:
- A profile can only be created by a parent (for their own child) or by Mr Ahmad — a child under 13 can never create their own account or enter any information directly into the app.
- The only information collected is: the student’s name, year/grade, and subjects studied.
- We never collect an email address, phone number, photograph, or date of birth for a student under 13.
- A student under 13 never has their own login and cannot access the app directly.
- If Mr Ahmad creates a profile for a student under 13 before a parent has connected to it, that profile is marked “pending” and cannot be used to book any lessons until a parent links to it using a private code and confirms consent themselves.
- A parent can review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information at any time — see “Your Rights” below.
- Information about children under 13 is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage bookings for tutoring lessons
- To let a parent view their linked child’s progress, feedback, and balance
- To let Mr Ahmad record lesson feedback, homework, and test scores
- To track which lessons are paid or outstanding
- To communicate with you about your bookings (for example, over WhatsApp)
5. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or marketing companies. The only third party involved in running this app is Google Firebase, which securely stores app data on our behalf as our infrastructure provider. Firebase does not use this data for its own purposes.
This app does not include any advertising, analytics, or tracking software of any kind.
6. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), with access controlled by security rules so that a parent can only see their own linked students, a student can only see their own information, and only Mr Ahmad can see everything. Login is protected by password (or, for a 13+ student’s first login, a secure link sent to their own email address).
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep account and lesson information for as long as your account is active, so that bookings, feedback, and progress history remain available to you. If an account is deleted (see below), personal details are removed; a minimal, anonymized booking/payment record may be kept for Mr Ahmad’s own accounting and tax purposes.
8. Your Rights
- Access — you can view your own information, or your linked child’s information, at any time within the app.
- Correction — contact us (below) if anything is incorrect and we will fix it.
- Deletion — a parent or a 13+ student can permanently delete their own account from within the app. See the “Account Deletion” policy under Policies in the app for full details, including how to request deletion of an under-13 student’s profile.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make a material change to what information we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the version number at the top, and — where required — ask for consent again.
