IB Math Question Banks — Practice by Course and Topic
These question banks are the practice resource I use with my own students. Every question is taken from official IB past papers and organised by course and topic, so you can drill exactly what you need to work on rather than working through a random mix of questions. All questions come with worked solutions and mark scheme references.
Why Topic-Organised Practice Matters
Doing full past papers is essential for exam preparation, but it is not the most efficient way to improve on a specific weak topic. If a student is losing marks on integration by parts or hypothesis testing, doing a full past paper gives them perhaps two or three questions on that topic across 120 minutes of work. Drilling the question bank for that topic gives them twenty questions in the same time — and that repetition is what builds fluency.
I use these question banks in sessions alongside full past papers: past papers to build exam technique and time management, question banks to close specific topic gaps. Used together, they are the most effective way to prepare for IB Math exams.

The AI HL question bank covers all five topic areas from the Applications & Interpretation HL syllabus:
- Number & Algebra — sequences, financial mathematics, logarithms, complex numbers
- Functions — modelling with functions, regression, transformation of graphs
- Geometry & Trigonometry — Voronoi diagrams, graph theory algorithms, 3D geometry

How to Use These Question Banks Effectively
The most effective way to use topic question banks is to combine them with full past paper practice:
- Do a full past paper under timed conditions and mark it honestly against the mark scheme.
- Identify the two or three topics where you lost the most marks.
- Work through the question bank for those topics — not just getting the answers right, but understanding each step of the working and what the mark scheme awarded marks for.
- Do another full paper and check whether those topics have improved.
This cycle — diagnose, drill, retest — is what I use in every exam preparation session. It is more efficient than either full papers alone or topic practice alone.
